JOB SUMMARY: Manage and direct the school library media center. Collaboratively deliver instruction that promotes an exemplary educational program and ensures success for all students. Create and maintain a schoolwide literacy culture.

1.Collaborate with teachers from various departments and co-teach skills including but not limited to reading, research, information and media literacy, and an organized inquiry method.Daily15%
2.Create a schoolwide literacy culture by promoting a variety of dynamic library programs related to reading, research, technology, etc.Daily15%
3.Maintain and strategically develop an equitable library collection aligned with school goals and individual students’ interests.Daily10%
4.Create a safe, nurturing, and accessible library space for the entire school community.Daily10%
5.Positively impact achievement and differentiate instruction based on the needs of the students by supporting programs designed to increase student achievement.Daily10%
6.Develop and maintain access to online library tools, including the Integrated Library System, academic databases and other resources, providing professional learning, direct instruction, and troubleshooting as needed.Daily10%
7.Assist students, staff, and community in accessing and using the library’s resources.Daily10%

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: This job has no direct supervisory responsibilities.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: The minimum prerequisites of formal education, professional work experience, certifications, licenses, endorsements, designations, trainings, and other criteria that a candidate must fulfill to be considered for a position. It is essential that certifications, licenses, endorsements, designations, and trainings are fulfilled, valid, and not expired.



  • Criminal background check and fingerprinting required

  • Master's degree

  • Three (3) years of teaching experience 

  • Colorado Department of Education (CDE) teaching license

  • CDE Teacher Librarian Endorsement

  • Strong knowledge of curriculum, pedagogy, and instructional technology 

  • Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds 


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS: The physical demands, mental functions, cognitive capacities, and work environment factors required to perform a position’s essential functions.   • Work location is subject to change to meet the requirements of the organization

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Formal education, professional work experience, certifications, licenses, endorsements, designations, trainings, and other qualifications relevant to the position that are strongly preferred but not mandatory for a candidate to be considered.



  • Five (5) years of teaching experience

  • Experience working in the public sector, specifically public education

  • Racially conscious and culturally competent with the skill, will, capacity, and knowledge to commit to a culture of continuous improvement
