Teacher of the Visually Impaired Illinois Schools

• Travel between school sites may be required depending on the caseload.
  


• Deliver specialized instruction to students with visual impairments across grade levels.
  


• Provide direct and consultative services to support access to the general education curriculum.
  


• Adapt instructional materials, collaborate on IEP teams, and implement appropriate assistive technology.
  

Requirements

• Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills.
  


• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education of the Visually Impaired or related field.
  


• Current Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with endorsement in Visual Impairments.
  


• Knowledge of Braille instruction, orientation and mobility principles, and assistive tech tools.
