Description

PRIMARY FUNCTION: Responsible for developing and implementing a high quality, energetic, comprehensive physical education program appropriate for each grade level.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

1. Develop and implement a grade-level appropriate Physical Education curriculum aligned to Wisconsin State Academic Standards. E

2. Administer formal and informal assessments that specifically evaluate academic growth in student’s physical education skills and knowledge. E

3. Develop weekly lesson plans that are aligned with Wisconsin State Physical Education Standards. Submit plans as directed to administer. E

4. Ensure a secure, safe, and healthy environment by establishing strong relationships with students and implementing rigorous classroom management. E

5. Ensure parents are engaged and informed about the importance and effectiveness of physical health and activities in their child’s life. NE

6. Attend meetings and professional development activities as requested. NE

7. Follow all duties of a mandated reporter. E

8. Perform other related duties as assigned. NE

9. Be a team player. E

Requirements

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Work is generally performed in classroom and school environments. Some infrequent local/state-wide travel may be needed.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work is generally performed in classroom and school environments. Infrequent local/state-wide travel. Flexible hours required as dictated by program needs.

REPORTS TO: Administrator

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Bachelor’s Degree in related Physical Education or closely related field from an accredited University or College.

2. Valid WI DPI License in applicable area and /or range or ability to obtain a License with Stipulation (emergency license).

3. Bilingual (English/Spanish) required for bilingual designated positions.

4. Bilingual - English/Spanish (Highly desirable)

5. Neat orderly person with great organizational skills.

6. Must be a “People Person” with a great disposition and outlook on life, who enjoys working with others, is upbeat and pleasant to work with, and is a good listener.

7. Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office suite.

8. Must be willing and able to work flexible hours as needed.

9. Excellent communication and documentation skills, written and verbal.

10. Must pass all background checks.
