TEAM LEAD Laser/Brake Press

Description

 The Team Lead for the Brake Press and Laser Department is a working lead responsible for operating the brake press and lasers while overseeing the department's workflow, quality, and safety standards. This position ensures production goals are met, provides training and mentorship to team members, and fosters a collaborative work environment. 

Requirements

1. Lead and coordinate the daily activities of the Brake Press and Laser Department team members to meet production schedules.

2. Operate, set up, and troubleshoot brake presses and lasers to ensure optimal performance and quality.

3. Monitor the production process to ensure parts meet customer specifications and quality standards.

4. Assist in planning and prioritizing workflow to maximize productivity and minimize downtime.

5. Train team members on technical job duties, equipment operation, and safety protocols.

6. Inspect parts for defects or inconsistencies, implementing corrective actions as needed.

7. Perform routine maintenance and ensure all equipment is in good working order.

8. Collaborate with other departments to address and resolve production issues or deviations.

9. Maintain accurate records of production metrics, equipment usage, and quality control checks.

10. Foster a safe working environment by ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.

11. Drive process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality, and workflow.

12. Oversee inventory management for materials and tools needed for department operations.

13. Communicate effectively with management and provide updates on production status and challenges.

Minimum of 2-3 years of experience operating brake presses and lasers in a manufacturing environment. 

Experience with Amada preferred. 

Prior leadership experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred.

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot equipment and production issues.

Effective communication skills and the ability to lead and motivate a team.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

1. Extensive standing, recurring bending, reaching as well as moderate to heavy lifting.

2. Good eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity.

3. Continuous mental and/or visual attention to operate machine(s).

4. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
