Team Lead Patient Advocate for Front Desk 

 Will be responsible for assisting team mates & manager with daily operations, tasks and special projects.

1. Works with Manager to train new employers on all front desk & Intake responsibilities. This includes process for Fast Check In, MRRs, Greeter and New Patient Intake

2. Works with Manager to provide re-training or refresher training to existing employees who may need additional support understanding process and work flow 

3. Works with Manager to train on any changes in process or workflow

4. Works with Manager to train employees on insurance knowledge, benefit verifications & completing the VPD templates 

5. Assist and when necessary covering scheduled shifts due to call ins or unscheduled PTO

6. Assist patients with any questions or concerns they may have and/or direct patients to the appropriate support

7. Participates in group discussions, conferences, seminars and meetings when required

8. Participate in continuing education 

9. Assists Manager with any front desk projects or process improvements

10. Responsible for setting up payment plans, looking for grant /drug assistance, and other insurance options with patients and their families as needed. 

11. Responsible for enrolling patients who qualify in patient assistance programs and maintaining records of all correspondence. Also is responsible to re-enroll patients in their Foundations when necessary. 

12. Works specific patient reports, such as Medicaid Fee for service, confirmed self-pay, and non-participating insurance companies, to determine if there are other insurance options for the patient. 

13. Works with our insurance broker to assist patients to switch their Medicare coverage when applicable.

14. Needs to become if not yet a subject matter expert on insurance coverage.

Requirements

 Knowledge of medical insurance industry, laws and regulations and operating procedures. Knowledge of ICD10 and CPT codes, some knowledge of medical terminology. Skill in identifying/investigating problems, arriving at a solution and correcting errors. Skill in computer applications.
