Job Description (Essential Functions and Responsibilities)
Dauphin County Public Defenders Office is currently accepting applications for the full-time position of Team Support Assistant. The employee in this role is responsible for performing the following essential functions listed below:
Front Desk Coverage: answer and direct incoming calls; assist and verify, review completeness of intake application to determine eligibility. Identify case participants for case conflict review; Identify and resolve any issues or discrepancies with client application; Assist clients in determining court dates and assigned attorney.
Administrative Support: Assist with tracking and reporting investigation assignments by organizing and maintaining accurate records; Organize inmate clothing by maintaining inventory; pulling necessary items as needed and delivering clothing to courthouse; Retrieve and return case files from off-site archives; obtain and gather necessary documentation from county/state agencies; prepare letters, entries of appearance and subpoenas; Utilize LegalEdge (case tracking system); record necessary information in the electronic record, including but not limited to the attorney of record, docket numbers, addresses, telephone numbers, etc.; Utilize PAC File by uploading documents to the courts' electronic filing system; Scan, shred, copy and fax as necessary

QUALIFICATIONS
A.EDUCATION/TRAINING:
High School Diploma or GED; supplemented by college level course work or vocational training in criminal justice.
B.WORK EXPERIENCE:
Work experience in a law office or court system with knowledge of legal terminology.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
This is a union position. The starting hourly rate is $17.23/$35,838 annually.
