Tech Support Customer Service - Join a Market Leader

A leading international manufacturing company with a facility in Laguna Hills is looking for a Software and Systems Support Tech. The company produces products in a broad range of precision measuring tools and hand tools used in medical manufacturing, electronics, aerospace, automotive, and many others. The primary responsibilities of this position are to ensure all customer service technical requests are efficiently performed with quality and professionalism under the company’s policies/procedures.

This is a temp-to-hire opportunity and pay ranges from $25 to $29/hour to start, with an increase review once hired by the company. There's also a generous employee benefits package which includes full medical and dental, 401K, and a stock purchase program.

The essential functions of this position include:

• Assist customers and sales staff with software and metrology-related questions
• Assist customers and sales staff with product-related technical issues
• Support may be over the phone, Zendesk Ticketing System, via web meeting or in person
• Maintain records on all systems in the field for software type and version and review for upgrade potential
• Basic knowledge of TCP/IP, Networking
• Proficient in Windows Operating system.
• Assembly of PC Hardware and installation of Software, Drivers.
• Evaluation of returned products via the RMA process
• Assist with customer training
• Assist with Product User Manual writing & editing
• Assist with Technical Bulletin writing and organization
• Assist the team in achieving company and department goals
• Adhere to all environmental health and safety rules, regulations, and work instructions
• Great interpersonal skills for a multi-functional design team environment. Proven ability to inspire and accomplish projects in a team setting.
• Ability to work under pressure on multiple projects.

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science degree (or similar) in Computer Science, Physics, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or a similar technical field and 1+ year experience.
• Great interpersonal skills for a multi-functional design team environment. Proven ability to inspire and accomplish projects in a team setting.
• Be capable of translating incomplete customer and product requirements into useful technical specifications.
• Ability to work under pressure on multiple projects.
• Excellent communication skills are essential.
• Ability to travel occasionally and work directly with global partners, customers, and suppliers (once hired by the company).
