Job Description - Technical Consultant- DoD

Overview

In this position, you will work closely with Department of Defense customers to help define geospatial-centric solutions and implementation of those solutions. You will solve complex geospatial problems by evaluating and translating the customer's business goals, objectives, and strategies.

The contributions you make will support our Intelligence Community and Department of Defense customers across many industries. The work you do will enable customers to make meaningful decisions by leveraging location intelligence.

The teams you will work with are collaborative and forward leaning. They are problem solvers, listeners, facilitators, guides, and trusted advisers to thousands of ArcGIS users making a difference. We will benefit from the experience of working together as part of an extensive network of industry and technology experts.

ResponsibilitiesWork closely with customers and partners to identify, design, and certify key GIS workflows for the ArcGIS platformProvide platform configuration guidance and best practices to customers regarding innovative solutions using Esri technology and content to help them make better decisionsIdentify the value of location within customer workflows and drive substantial return on their investment in Esri's enterprise platform and servicesRecommend relevant strategies, architectures, and solutions and work with customers to prepare implementation and migration strategiesPresent complex GIS technical demonstrations to various levels of staff in a diverse range of customer organizationsCollaborate with customer IT organizations to align their technical objectives and business goals with Esri's technology enterpriseRequirements

5+ years of professional experience in a similar position, supporting similar responsibilitiesProfessional experience designing, implementing, and/or administrating enterprise GIS solutions/systems that leverage the ArcGIS platform (Desktop, Server, and Online)Proven experience leveraging Esri's software capabilities including mapping, field operations, spatial analysis and data science, 3D visualization and analytics, data management, and developer APIsPro-actively craft and propose solutions that clarify how GIS brings business value to address critical business challenges faced by customers, specifically in the Intelligence domainProven experience with GIS workflow automation patternsAbility to clearly communicate technical ideas, whether to other technical peers or non-technical peers, project managers and/or customersExceptional interpersonal, written/verbal communication, multi-tasking, and presentation skillsApplicants selected will be subjected to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; this could include a Top Secret Clearance (TS), a Top Secret Sensitive Compartmented Information Clearance (TS/SCI), a TS/SCI with Counterintelligence Scope (CI) and/or a Full Scope/LifestyleBachelor's degree in Geography, Computer Science, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), or related STEM fieldRecommended Qualifications

Master's degree in Geography, Computer Science, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), or related STEM fieldProgramming and scripting experience with PythonDomain experience around Defense and Intelligence content workflowsExperience with current technology implementation patterns, including service-oriented and cloud computing architectureUnderstanding of IT integration concepts such as databases, web services, webhooks, mobile devices configurations, web browsers, IT system architecture concepts

Compensation decisions and the base range for this role take into account many factors including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.

A reasonable estimate of the base salary range is

$74,880-$150,280 USD
