Technical Design Associate

The Technical Design Associate (TDA) supports the technical design team in bringing apparel from concept to production, with a focus on quality, fit, and consistency. This role offers an excellent development opportunity for detail-oriented, organized, and technically minded individuals who are passionate about apparel and eager to grow their skills in garment construction and product development. The TDA will work cross-functionally with design, sourcing, and suppliers on both menswear and womenswear apparel.

Responsibilities:

1. Measure and document garment samples accurately throughout the development process.
2. Attend fit sessions to support the technical team with notetaking, sample tracking, and photography.
3. Maintain detailed records of specifications, fit changes, and development notes.
4. Coordinate fit session schedules and manage sample flow with the model and team.
5. Support communication with suppliers by organizing and documenting technical feedback and providing visuals when needed.
6. Collaborate with cross-functional partners to ensure product quality, fit consistency, and alignment with design intent.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documenting information
• Genuine interest in apparel, fashion, and how garments are constructed
• Organized and able to manage multiple tasks and timelines
• Technically curious and eager to learn about garment specs, fit, and development
• Collaborative and a strong communicator across teams
• Takes initiative and demonstrates a strong work ethic
• Comfortable with using or learning tools such as Excel, Google Sheets, and Adobe Illustrator

Preferred, But Not Required:

• Exposure to or interest in apparel development or production
• Experience with measuring garments or working with technical documents
• Familiarity with PLM systems or 3D garment software is a plus (but will be taught if needed)
• Previous experience in a product or apparel-related environment

1. Interest in Garment Construction and Technical Design.

2. Able to adapt and find solutions when faced with unexpected challenges.

3. Comfortable with precise documentation with open, clear communication between teams and with suppliers.

4. Effectively manage concurrent projects while ensuring deadlines are consistently met, including coordinating with production schedules and timelines.

5. Comfortable working collaboratively in teams while taking initiative on independent tasks.

6. Strong attention to detail.

7. Experience with Adobe Illustrator a plus.

8. Strong working knowledge of spreadsheet applications like Excel and Google Sheets.

9. Experienced with PC operating systems.
