Join Our Team as a Technical Document Specialist

The Technical Document Specialist is responsible for the creation and maintenance of technical documentation related to the Product Development process up to the point of finished product specification creation. The role will be play an integral part of the stage gate process and will provide support to various functions at F&S Fresh Foods. This individual must be self-motivated with strong leadership, project management and communication skills. The candidate must be able to work closely with multiple levels of the organization from R&D, Corporate and Plant QA, Operations, Cost Accounting, Product Management, Sales, Customers and Suppliers to ensure project objectives and deliverables are met.

About the Role

• Responsible for the creation and maintenance of product recipe records in partnership with the Product Development Team in Spec Right for all F&S Facilities.  
• Ensures consistency and accuracy of technical data provided within records 
• Monitor project timelines and complete TDS specific tasks as outlined in stage gate process to ensure deadlines are met.  
• Responsible for all documentation updates and record management as a result of process updates, ingredient/packaging changes or discontinuations. Maintains records of any corrections and revisions made to documentation.
• Assists in the creation, maintenance and approval of finished product specifications
• Works in tandem with Sourcing leads to understand site specific packaging and ingredient requirements.
• Collaborates with multiple business teams both internal and external of R&D (Operations, Product Management, Sales, etc.) and work as part of cross functional team to solve complex business needs
• Researches, proposes, and implements solutions and improvement to documentation process.
• Leads the development and maintenance of departmental systems that contain technical, regulatory and packaging data for both internal and external customers.
• Partners with QA and Packaging Graphics to ensure complete and accurate information is provided to facilitate finished product specifications including plating sheets and label creation.  
• Supports the work of overall Innovation Team in delivering Departmental and Organizational objectives

Requirements

Education & Experience

• A Bachelor’s degree in Science preferred (Food, Nutrition, Regulatory Compliance or similar)
• A minimum of 5 years technical food experience. 

Skills & Abilities

• Demonstrated understanding of computerized database management for technical specifications in a food/beverage company.
•  Familiarity with Sales Force/Specright is preferred
• Working knowledge of computerized database management software
• Highly detail oriented with an ability to organize and manage large amounts of data
• The ability to prioritize and effectively manage evolving customer demands
• The ability to work in team environment, simultaneously working with several different teams
• Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills with an attention to detail
• Self-motivated 
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
