RVP Consultants is seeking an experienced Technical English Teacher – Engineering & Technology for a one-month, in-person international assignment in Jordan as part of the Brilliant Global Competitions – IoT & Sustainable Smart Cities program.

You will work with students ages 12–18 whose first language is not English, helping them build the Technical English skills needed to engage with engineering, IoT, and smart city concepts and confidently communicate, collaborate, and present their technical ideas.

This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on young innovators while gaining valuable international teaching and cross-cultural experience.





About the Program

The Brilliant Global Smart Cities Competition equips students with the platform and real-world IoT technology to design, engineer, and build functional smart city models. Through hands-on, project-based learning, students tackle real urban challenges using IoT, coding, automation, data analytics, sustainability engineering, and urban planning while developing critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

The competition is part of Brilliant Global Competitions (BGC), RVP Consultants' international STEM competition framework, with its first competition cycle launching in Jordan.







What You'll Do



  • Deliver engaging, in-person Technical English instruction during a four-week program in Jordan.

  • Teach engineering and technology vocabulary, technical reading and comprehension, technical communication, research, collaboration, and presentation skills.

  • Connect English instruction to hands-on engineering, IoT, technology, and smart city applications.

  • Help students confidently explain technical concepts, collaborate with teams, and present their ideas in English.

  • Conduct baseline, midpoint, and final assessments to measure student progress.

  • Provide differentiated instructional support based on student learning needs.

  • Collaborate with on-site STEM coaches and program staff.

  • Review and provide feedback on Technical English learning materials, workbooks, and assessments.


 

Required Qualifications



Education

  • Bachelor's degree required; degree in Education, TESOL/TEFL, English, Engineering, or a STEM field preferred.


Experience & Skills

  • 3–5 years of teaching experience, ideally with middle- or high-school-aged students.

  • Experience teaching Technical English, English for Engineering, or English for STEM to non-native English speakers.

  • Strong classroom management, facilitation, and student-engagement skills.

  • Ability to make technical and engineering terminology and concepts accessible to English-language learners.

  • Experience assessing student learning and providing differentiated instructional support.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to review and provide feedback on instructional materials and assessments.

  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work effectively with on-site STEM coaches and program staff.

  • Cultural sensitivity, adaptability, and enthusiasm for working in an international environment.

  • Passion for education, youth empowerment, and global innovation.

  • Valid U.S. passport and ability to travel to Jordan for the full assignment.


 

Preferred Qualifications

  • TESOL, TEFL, CELTA, or equivalent English-language teaching certification.

  • Background or demonstrated knowledge in engineering, technology, IoT, coding, robotics, or STEM education.

  • Prior international, overseas, or cross-cultural teaching experience.

  • Experience with hands-on or project-based learning.






International Assignment Benefits
