Essential Function:

Reporting to the Operations Training Manager, the Technical Instructor 2 is a core team member of the Silfex Operations Training Team who conducts training courses for operations employees including ERP system training, manufacturing processes, and other topics determined by business needs. Creates and facilitates technical training courses for operations employees subjects such as multiple tools, compliance and safety topics, and manufacturing processes. Interacts with new hires and functional organizations to develop specifications for content of courses. Prepares and delivers training. Instructs participants in both classroom, virtual, and hands-on sessions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate and create learning experiences applying adult learning techniques
  • Conduct train the trainer sessions
  • Promote facilitation and learning and development best practices
  • Deliver training and handle administrative tasks
  • Consult with SMEs to design and deliver effective and engaging course content as assigned
  • Determine and create appropriate learning experience for the key performance indicator (eLearning, classroom training, virtual environment training)
  • Actively learn and apply basic knowledge of Silfex manufacturing required technical skills, compliance requirements, and safety knowledge
  • Support and creates materials for hands-on training
  • Leverage data informed decision making to make improvements for future iterations of training.
  • Build relationships with key business partners through strong customer service and collaboration to meet their company goals and project outcomes.
  • Support and perform administrative tasks to support training systems as required
  • Prepare training reports as requested
  • Draft and collaborate on training department communication (e.g. class announcements).
  •  Perform as an active team member of the Silfex Operations Training Team
  • Promote and practice company’s mission and values

  • Assist in applying lean manufacturing concepts and 5S.  Demonstrate ownership of continuous improvement ideas and activities.  Maintain organization and cleanliness, housekeeping and 5S within work area.  Maintain these areas to the highest degree possible while responsibly escalating any maintenance issues.

Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Minimum of 2 years as classroom instructor, coach or facilitator, skills training lead, or similar with a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Semiconductor industry knowledge a plus
  • Intermediate computer literacy and basic systems
  • Proficient with MS Office applications such as PowerPoint and Excel
  • Ability to learn video creation and editing software
  • Ability to learn how to use eLearning creation software
  • Experience using Microsoft Teams
  • Experience with creation of technical training curriculum
  • Basic project management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize, manage time, detail-oriented, and organized
  • Practical experience working with cross functional teams
  • Experience using problem-solving tools and/or continuous improvement practices
  • Communicate effectively with other technical roles (operations stakeholders)
  • Comfortable with working independently
  • Comfortable in a demanding, fast-paced, ever-changing work environment

Physical Demands:

The employee is occasionally required to lift up to 50 pounds. The employee regularly is required to lift up to 10 pounds. The vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the environment is moderate.
