strengths and competitors’ limitations, and 2) synthesizing design best practices
to inform continuous product improvement through benchmarking. The candidate
will collaborate closely with Product Marketing, Product Management,

marketing strategies.

Responsibilities:

Competitive Analysis and

Conduct in-depth technical evaluations of Sol-Ark’s
products (e.g., hybrid inverters, microinverters) against competitors,
assessing functionality, reliability, and cost through hands-on testing and
detailed product teardowns.

Design for Quality
Assessments:
Analyze competitor and Sol-Ark products for reliability,
durability, and performance under real-world conditions (e.g., thermal stress,
electrical load, environmental factors), identifying design strengths and
weaknesses using tools like failure mode analysis (FMEA) and reliability
testing protocols.

Design for Cost
Assessments:
Evaluate component selection, manufacturing processes, and
design efficiencies to assess cost-effectiveness, comparing Sol-Ark’s solutions
to competitors’ to identify opportunities for cost optimization without
compromising quality.

Test Plan Development: Design and execute
comprehensive test plans and procedures to validate product performance,
reliability, and efficiency, ensuring alignment with industry standards.

Marketing Collateral
Creation:
Partner with Product Marketing to develop compelling
assets (e.g., whitepapers, videos, datasheets, case studies) that translate
technical findings into clear, market-facing content, emphasizing Sol-Ark’s
superior design, reliability, or cost advantages.

Design Best Practices
Synthesis:
Document and synthesize insights from competitive
benchmarking to identify industry-leading design practices, providing
actionable recommendations to Engineering and Product Management for continuous
product improvement (e.g., mechanical, electrical, functional).

Technical Reporting: Produce detailed reports
summarizing findings from competitive analyses, teardowns, and quality/cost
assessments, translating complex data into actionable insights for both
technical and marketing teams.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or
diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related
technical field (e.g., technician training in power electronics). Advanced
degrees or certifications (e.g., PE, CET) are a plus.

  • 3–5 years of experience in
power electronics, electrical systems, or related fields, preferably in the
    solar or renewable energy industry.

  • Proven expertise in
conducting design for quality assessments (e.g., reliability testing, FMEA) and
design for cost evaluations (e.g., component analysis, BOM optimization).

  • Hands-on experience with
product teardowns, competitive benchmarking, or test plan execution for
electrical/electronic components (e.g., inverters, battery systems).

  • Experience creating
technical marketing content (e.g., whitepapers, comparison videos) is highly
    desirable.

  • Deep knowledge of power
electronics, including inverters, battery management systems, and grid
integration, with the ability to assess design reliability and
    cost-effectiveness.

  • Proficiency in test plan
development, reliability analysis tools (e.g., FMEA, Weibull analysis), and
data analysis software (e.g., MATLAB, LabVIEW, Excel).

  • Strong analytical skills
to evaluate component-level design choices and manufacturing processes for cost
    and quality optimization.

  • Excellent communication
skills to translate complex technical findings into compelling marketing
messages for diverse audiences (e.g., installers, homeowners, C&I clients).

  • Collaborative mindset to
work across Product Marketing, Engineering, and Product Management teams.

  • Ability to work in a
fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
