Technical Operations Supervisor Microbiology

Eurofins is seeking a Technical Operations Supervisor – Microbiology to lead and support second-shift lab operations in a dynamic, GMP-regulated environment. This role blends hands-on technical expertise with team leadership, driving quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement across microbiology workflows.

What You’ll Do: 

Operational Oversight

• Supervise daily microbiology lab activities, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards
• Coordinate equipment maintenance, calibration schedules, and environmental monitoring
• Manage sample tracking and reporting using LIMS and internal databases
• Review lab data and reports for accuracy and completeness
• Support microbial identification and media acceptance testing as needed

Team Leadership

• Lead and mentor QC analysts, group leaders, and technical staff
• Oversee scheduling, task assignments, and onboarding for new hires
• Manage overtime and weekend coverage as needed
• Promote team development through coaching, feedback, and performance management
• Apply Lean principles to optimize workflows and drive operational excellence
• Participate in hiring and interview processes

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Life Sciences, Engineering, or a related field
• 3+ years of hands-on lab experience, ideally in a GMP-regulated setting
• 3+ years of leadership experience in technical or laboratory environments
• Strong understanding of lab operations, compliance, and workflow optimization
• Excellent communication and team-building skills
• Authorization to work in the U.S. without restriction or sponsorship

Position Details

• Schedule: Full-time, second shift (Monday–Friday, 2:00 pm – 10:30 pm)
• Additional Hours: Occasional weekends and overtime as needed
• Location: Onsite in Rensselaer, NY — candidates within a commutable distance are strongly encouraged to apply.
