We have a vacancy for an office based Applications Engineer to play a key role in the selling of our company’s products.

The role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Sales team with customer enquiries, lead generation and supporting the overall growth of the division.
Key Responsibilities:
Raise sales quotations as a response to both customer requests and from external Sales Managers
Take ownership of quotations and chase through to conclusion including required follow up actions
Respond to customer enquiries on a technical level from telephone, email and other sources to support the sales activity.
Deliver all daily processes with consistent accuracy, while working within tight timelines.
Provide prompt and comprehensive responses to customer queries relating to Gauge Selection, Accessories, Instrumentation and Bonding activity.
Become the customer’s voice within the business - aspire to exceed customer expectation, and to develop and optimise the relationship.
Take ownership of arising issues, ensuring investigation and timely resolution.
Perform Business Development activities from lead generation to close or handover to external sales managers
Identify market opportunities and target accounts & sales opportunities
Support external sales managers with Leads, Opportunities and appointment creation
Maintain customer databases QAD & CRM
Reporting and generation of documentation in line with customer and internal expectation.
Pro-active approach to non-trading, existing and potential customers in support of external sales activities.
To follow industry trends, standards, market insight and new innovations, advising the sales team - to expand our offering and further support our position as market leader for Strain Gauge Technology
The ideal candidate for this position will have the following skills and experience:
Degree educated within electronics or Mechatronic filed or minimum two years’ experience in a technical sales role for B2B manufacturing or distribution environment is necessary.
Team player with ability to prioritise.
Good attention to detail.
Unafraid to take on new challenges and develop within a demanding environment.
Good knowledge of Strain Gauge technology and Data Acquisition systems is an additional benefit.
