Job Description - Technical Sales Support

Company Description

Join our team as a Technical Sales Support professional and play a pivotal role in bringing complex, custom-engineered machinery to life. In this highly collaborative position, you’ll bridge sales, engineering, production, and customers—ensuring projects move seamlessly from quote to shipment. From supporting the promotion and configuration of advanced blow molding systems to leading machine order meetings, coordinating customer approvals, and managing acceptance and shipping logistics, you’ll be at the center of every project milestone. Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Sales Support:

  • Assist Director Sales & Marketing, Regional Sales Managers, and Sales Project Engineers in promoting blow molding machinery and systems.
  • Support the quoting process by conducting research, providing specialized information, and creating engineering requests for special machine features.
  • Maintain and update the configuration database on the mainframe.

Machine Orders and Project Management:

  • Convert sold machine orders into Machine Order Specification Sheets (MOSS) and lead MOSS meetings with engineering and production teams.
  • Provide regular status updates on machine orders, including timeline-specific work in progress and projected completions.
  • Communicate project updates between engineers, sales, and customers, including Gantt charting and major milestones.

Customer Coordination:

  • Serve as liaison between engineering and customers for time-sensitive approvals on machine layouts and revisions.
  • Coordinate machine acceptance, including scheduling, preparing materials, and facilitating customer arrival.
  • Support customers and salespeople throughout the machine acceptance process.

Shipping and Documentation:

  • Coordinate with materials department for shipping arrangements and confirm costs and tracking with customer locations.
  • Establish and maintain post-acceptance punch lists for handling prior to shipment.
  • Assign CSM numbers to track customer supplier components while in-house.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or two (2) year technical degree; or two (2) to three (3) years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Experience in technical sales support, project coordination, or manufacturing preferred.

  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with ERP systems and project tracking tools is a plus.
