Job Description - Technical Support Specialist


Position Overview


We are looking for a highly technical and solution-oriented Technical Specialist to support operational systems, data pipelines, and backend workflows. This role combines operational support with technical troubleshooting, automation, and workflow management.


The ideal candidate will act as the technical backbone of the operations team, helping maintain system reliability, support data infrastructure, and resolve complex technical issues that require deeper analytical and development-level expertise.


This position is best suited for someone with strong SQL skills, experience with APIs and ETL processes, and a proactive mindset focused on improving operational efficiency.


Key Responsibilities


Technical Support & Operations



  • Perform first-level technical troubleshooting before escalating issues to engineering teams

  • Provide weekend escalation coverage, including issue triage and coordination with on-call technical teams

  • Support operational changes within data pipelines and workflow systems

  • Execute scripts and automated processes for operational and developer support queues

  • Run data acquisition and processing tasks through APIs and backend systems


Pipeline Maintenance & System Reliability



  • Monitor and maintain high-volume data pipelines

  • Identify system failures, bottlenecks, and workflow inefficiencies

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to recommend technical improvements and process optimizations

  • Manage ETL workflows, including data extraction, transformation, and transfer processes

  • Maintain backend operational reliability and support automated workflow execution



Technical Queue & Backend Support



  • Act as the primary point of contact for technical operational support requests

  • Resolve technical issues beyond standard operational troubleshooting capabilities

  • Conduct technical audits and backend data validation activities

  • Execute complex database queries to ensure data integrity and operational health

  • Bridge communication and workflow gaps between engineering and operations teams



Required Technical Skills


Programming & Integration



  • Basic Python knowledge for backend scripting and automation

  • Advanced SQL skills with experience writing and optimizing complex queries

  • Experience working with RESTful APIs for data extraction and integration

  • Ability to manage backend workflows and automation scripts


Data & Workflow Management



  • Understanding of ETL processes and data pipeline operations

  • Experience monitoring and troubleshooting automated workflows

  • Familiarity with operational data systems and backend process management


Qualifications



  • Senior-level experience in technical operations, system support, data infrastructure, or related technical roles

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Ability to build, improve, and optimize workflows rather than simply follow existing processes

  • Experience collaborating with engineering and operations teams on technical issue resolution and process improvements

  • Strong communication and coordination skills in cross-functional environments



Preferred Competencies



  • Self-driven and proactive approach to problem-solving

  • Ability to manage multiple technical priorities simultaneously

  • Strong attention to detail and system accuracy

  • Comfortable working in fast-paced operational environments
