Technical Writer

Location: Washington, D.C. (Onsite)
Clearance Requirement: Active T5/6C Background Investigation (High-Risk Public Trust)
Education: Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Information Systems, English, Technical Writing, or related field
Experience: 4+ years

Responsibilities:

• Develop, edit, and maintain IT and cybersecurity documentation, including security policies, SOPs, POA&Ms, and system security plans.


• Ensure documents comply with NIST 800-53, FISMA, OMB, FedRAMP, GAO, and Department standards.


• Support A&A and FISMA reporting activities with accurate and timely documentation.


• Collaborate with IT staff and SMEs to capture technical processes and translate them into clear, compliant documents.


• Maintain repositories (Microsoft 365, GRC Tool) of controlled unclassified information (CUI) with proper formatting and Section 508 compliance.


• Prepare meeting minutes, white papers, training materials, and technical presentations.


• Assist with quarterly Risk Management Workshops and ongoing IT security reviews.
