Technical Writer

Job Summary:

The Technical Writer will be responsible for developing, editing, and maintaining technical documentation to support various projects and business initiatives. This role works closely with technical teams and stakeholders to gather information and translate complex technical concepts into clear, accurate, and concise documentation. The Technical Writer will ensure documentation meets internal standards, project requirements, and applicable guidelines.

Experience & Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing or a related field preferred


• Minimum of 3–5 years of experience as a Technical Writer in the oil and gas industry


• Knowledge of oil and gas facilities, procedures, and industry practices


• Experience developing Operating Manuals and Standard Operating Procedures


• Experience with process safety design, relevant industry standards, and best practices


• Knowledge of applicable codes and industry standards related to process and design engineering


• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with technical teams and stakeholders


• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and demonstrate initiative


• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage tasks and meet required timelines

Essential Duties& Responsibilities:

• Responsible for developing, editing, and maintaining technical documentation, including operating manuals, user guides, and standard operating procedures


• Work with subject matter experts to gather technical information and ensure accuracy of documentation


• Translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and usable documentation


• Ensure documentation complies with company standards, project requirements, and applicable guidelines


• Review, update, and maintain existing documentation to reflect changes in processes, systems, or technologies


• Coordinate with cross-functional project teams to support timely delivery of documentation


• Comply with all Company and Client HSE policies and procedures


• Responsible for adhering to GATE Energy policies and procedures in a positive manner


• Travel to client offices, as required


• Other duties as assigned
