As a member of the healthcare team and under the direction of a Registered Nurse, the Technician I assumes responsibility for preparation, use, and reprocessing of procedural equipment and supplies for direct patient care services and assists with patient care needs in the admitting and recovery areas. This role will utilize in-depth knowledge of infection control practices, equipment function, medical gases, technology, and maintenance. The Technician I will follow the Job Standards and Clinical Practice Criteria as outlined by the Society of Gastroenterology Nurses Association (SGNA), American Society of PeriAnesthesia Nurses (ASPAN) and Association of PeriOperative Registered Nurses (AORN). This position provides rapid response to nurse/physician/patient/family needs and requests.
