To retain long-term, quality clients and optimize profitability for the company through the development and implementation of the Test Lab departments service delivery systems, so that client's expectations and the company's financial standards are met.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Read and interpret standardized to automotive test standards (e.g. FMVSS, SAE, ASTM test methods.
Interpret engineering drawings, test requests, and technical specifications to determine appropriate test setups and procedures.
Assemble test fixtures, instrumentation, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems required for structural load applications.
Operate test equipment, including hydraulic actuators and data acquisition systems.
Troubleshoot test setups and equipment issues with minimal supervision.
Maintain test records, photographs, and detailed reports of all test activities.
Collaborate with project managers, clients, and other staff to develop custom test protocols when required.
Accurately document test assembly components and create sketches as necessary.
Judge test assembly workmanship and maintain consistent quality.
Identify modes of failure related to all testing.
Interact with clients to obtain clarification or additional details on product or installation and also results and failures.
Adhere to lab safety procedures and ensure all testing activities comply with internal and external safety standards.
Mentor and provide guidance to junior technicians and assist in training when needed.

Preferred Education:
1. High School diploma or equivalent required.
2. Associate’s degree or technical certification in mechanical technology, automotive, or related field, preferred.
Preferred Experience:
1. 5+ years of experience in mechanical or structural testing of automotive or similar components
2. Strong working knowledge of FMVSS, SAE, and ASTM testing standards.
3. Experience with load frames, hydraulic systems, and data acquisition systems.
Other:
1. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
2. Ability to stand, kneel, or bend for extended periods of time during test setup or teardown.
3. Ability to operate a forklift, crane, and similar material handling equipment
