Technician- Water Jet I USA

Basic Job Functions:

• Responsible for operating and maintaining the Water Jet. Rebuild spare parts and track inventory levels of rebuilds. Assist with Target Change setup/clean up and assist with spare parts management.

Education/Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED required.

• 2-year associate degree in a technical field preferred.

• Certificate in a technical discipline, Mechanical and/or Electrical preferred.

• Candidate must meet one of the below criteria:

  • Currently working in a technical First Solar role, such as Manufacturing Operations Technician II or MET I.

  • 1 year working on machines or mechanical experience as a primary job function.

  • Military experience in electrical, mechanical and/or chemical industrial application.

Required Skills/Competencies:

• Knowledge of operating and maintaining manufacturing equipment.

• Proficient use of all Microsoft Office suite programs. (Word, Excel)

• Exposure to Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) software.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment.

• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

• General electrical and mechanical knowledge.

• Solid problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

• Ability to follow safe work practices.

• Capable of following LOTO.

• Ability to work with little supervision.

• Must be able to obtain/maintain forklift certification.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Operates Water Jet and performs PM’s on Water Jet.

• Assists with Target Change Setup and Clean Up.

• Parts rebuild, tracking, and inventory of in process rebuilds.

• Spare Parts Management; Reviewing MDMs submitted, associating parts to assets, spare parts pictures, verifying manufacturing part numbers on parts.

• Waiting on Material work order tracking; submitting MDM’s, requesting quotes as needed.

• Other duties as assigned.

• This position will not have direct reports.

Travel:

• 0% - 5% (On occasion/as needed for training, etc.)

• Will sit, stand, or walk short distances for up to 12 hours per day.
• Will climb stairs or steps on a frequent basis.
• Will lift up to 58 pounds on an occasional basis, according to work instruction.
• Will lift up to 37 pounds on a frequent basis.
• Will push or pull up to 50 pounds of force on an occasional basis.
• Will push or pull up to 37 pounds of force on a frequent basis.
• Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basis.
• 20/40 vision in each eye separately and both eyes (with or without correction), the ability to distinguish between red, yellow, and green and peripheral vision >70 degrees is required.
• May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis.
• May stoop, kneel, or bend, on an occasional basis.
• Must comply with all safety standards and procedures.
• Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including, but not limited to: steel-toed shoes, cut-resistant gloves, jackets, aprons &/or arm guards, safety glasses or goggles, hearing protection & respirators) as a condition of employment and continued employment (requires little or no facial hair).
