SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES:

Under general supervision of the Utilities Lead Operator the employee receives assignments and is expected to carry them through to completion with substantial independence. Work is reviewed for adherence to instructions, accuracy, completeness, and conformance to standard practice or precedent. Recurring work clearly covered by guidelines may or may not be reviewed.

This position is responsible for performing daily duties for the utilities dept. Daily work includes maintaining the water and sewer system, assistance with repair techniques and practices, and all other work-related tasks as directed by assigned technician or supervisor

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Regular attendance.


• Responsible for assisting assigned technician in providing water and sewer service to community, repairing water & sewer issues throughout community.


• Assist in daily maintenance of community water and sewer, some maintenance of fire hydrant operations.


• Conduct daily vehicle trip inspection and daily cleaning of tools and small equipment to be ready for use that day.


• Perform day-to-day operations when assigned including (cleaning of pumping facility, yard clean up restocking of parts or equipment used that day either in stock room or on work truck.


• Cleaning of tools and equipment used on repairs.


• Available to respond and assist with repairs during emergency situations or after-hours calls if needed.


• Must follow all safety protocols and standard operating procedures.


• Ability to perform all other duties assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS:

• High School or General Education Diploma.


• Must possess a valid Drivers License and be eligible for the tribe’s insurance.


• Must be in good physical condition and able to lift 50 lbs.


• Must submit to pre-employment and random drug/alcohol testing.
