Title: Site Supervisor (Coordinator), Gonzales Teen Innovation Center (GTIC)
Work Schedule: Full-time, non-exempt; generally to be scheduled between 8am – 7pm, Monday – Friday with occasional later evening and weekend responsibilities.

Primary Function:
Under the direction of the Impact Director, South County, the Site Supervisor, GTIC will support youth success through outstanding, Mission-driven and integrity-centered leadership and management at the Gonzales Teen Innovation Center (GTIC). S/he accomplishes this by cultivating and managing a high-performing team that delivers engaging, age-appropriate, and outcome-driven programs serving youth ages 11-18. Support youth to ultimately achieve on-time grade progression, high school graduation, college/postsecondary readiness and education leading to a livable wage career, healthy lifestyle and engaged citizenship. This position involves flexible hours due to morning programming at school sites and afternoon program oversight at the GTIC. This position requires a high level of community relations with school administrators and city officials. The Site Supervisor’s primary work location is the Boys & Girls Club administrative office in Salinas and the GTIC.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Youth Success
- Foster a safe, positive, fun, and impactful program where participants acquire a sense of belonging, competence, usefulness, power, and influence
- Oversee daily after-school activities, ensuring they are developmentally appropriate and engaging for teens
- Support the implementation of school day programming in partnership with the SC team
- Foster a safe, positive, fun, and impactful Teen Center environment where 75-100 youth attend daily
- Coordinate homework support for middle and high school students, emphasizing tutoring with science, math, technology, literacy, and reading
- Manage SAT/ACT Preparation and college advising; and implement Boys & Girls Clubs of America programming
- Facilitate college and career preparation and life skills workshops, including coordinating college tours, internships, and developing trade skill opportunities
- Oversight of monthly case management files for teens
- Demonstrate mastery of classroom management
- Address youth behavior with a positive discipline approach that is fair, firm, consistent, and kind
- Responsible for achieving the stated program goals and outcomes of the GTIC
- Communicate regularly with school administrators and City of Gonzales officials as appropriate for program success
- Ensure a culture of high expectations, recognizing youth weekly for achieving their stated goals
- Implement a system for tracking Boys & Girls Clubs of Monterey County goals
- Lead recruitment and enrollment strategies to grow teen participation to meet program goals
Program Staff Supervision, Development & Performance Evaluation
- Lead your assigned team by making confident decisions with minimal supervision
- Recruit, hire, and set the team culture of Youth Development Professionals and volunteers
- Supervise and manage the work performance of your direct reports
- Oversee daily activities to ensure alignment with organizational goals, standards, and quality control expectations
- Monitor staff progress in achieving weekly, monthly & quarterly goals by tracking their performance with clearly defined and measurable objectives
- Conduct introductory and annual performance reviews of GTIC Impact staff as required
- Ensure all GTIC staff are knowledgeable with BGCMC processes, managing program intake systems, enrollment, and attendance tracking
- Benchmark progress to outcomes
- Support ongoing training and professional development, including: safety & risk management, CPR & First Aid, CA Food Handler certification; youth development practices, mentoring, mandatory reporting requirements, program compliance, outcome reporting, etc.
Program Development & Oversight
- Maintain organized student records and tracking of program activities, including logging services accurately in a timely manner
- Monitor progress in achieving results and take action accordingly, with special emphasis on youth recruitment (e.g., outreach, recruitment, retention, enrollment, active participation, program participation, etc.) and impact (i.e., youth progress in obtaining positive youth development outcomes).
- Analyze information, prepare reports and deliver presentations on findings, recommendations and actions taken for key stakeholders
- Participate in organizational strategic planning and execute the plan with clarity, understanding the roles, responsibilities, and processes at the leadership level, and ensuring effective, accountable working relationships to drive results
- Oversee GTIC resources and steward them responsibly
Facility Management
- Manage safety and order in all aspects of off-site BGCMC operations (including field trips and youth services delivered at non-BGCMC locations) as well as compliance with BGCMC’s policies and standard operating procedures
- Promptly report site safety, transportation, maintenance, technology and facility concerns to the BGCMC Operations Department, School officials, and City of Gonzales leadership as applicable
- Ensure staff maintain a clean, safe, fun, organized, and adequately equipped program space
- Ensure program supplies are adequate and the program environment is safe and inviting for all participants
- GTIC Impact staff are trained in emergency & evacuation procedures at the school sites (when applicable) where programs are conducted and the GTIC
Marketing & Public Relations
- Act as the primary contact for parents, managing communication regarding teen progress or concerns
- Manage communication with students, families, school staff, and city officials
- Maintain partnerships with school campuses/districts and city officials
- Understand and comply with formal agreements (Memorandum of Understanding) with city and district partners
- Work with supervisor to develop strategies that build awareness of the GTIC program with the greater community
- Facilitate membership recruitment and market programs to the Gonzales community
- Participate in BGCMC special events and fundraisers
- Protect BGCMC’s solid reputation as a respected, trusted, and impactful youth development organization
Collateral Duties
- Provide support as assigned to other departments and/or sites as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned in alignment with fulfilling the primary function of position
Education & Experience
- Four-year degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience
- Tech savvy, including proficiency in utilizing AI, Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, and Internet for maximum productivity
- A minimum of three years of management experience, with facility oversight and proven success at leading teams that produce strong, positive results
- A minimum of three years of experience mentoring youth to build their marketable skills
Physical Demands & Additional Requirements
- The ability to lift, and carry to 25 pounds
- The ability to bend, lift, and stretch
- Willingness to travel to multiple locations to provide school day programming within a 50 mile radius
- The ability to remain in a stationary position, including standing or sitting for up to 25% of your shift
Highly desirable qualifications:
- Oral and written Spanish fluency
- A valid driver's license and clear driving history is highly desirable
- Connectedness and experience working and living in Gonzales and South County
- Experience as a youth development professional in the Boys & Girls Club Movement
- First Aid & CPR Certification
Compensation:
Salary is based on experience and ranges $32.21 to $33.84 per hour. The paid benefits package includes 160 hours of vacation and 80 hours of sick leave, Medical, Vision, Pension, and 403(b) Plan Investment Options. This position is classified as non-exempt and is eligible for overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
