Teen Programs Manager

NATURE AND SCOPE:

Under the direction of the Vice President of Youth Programs, the Teen Programs Manager will provide leadership and/or support to teen programming within the Association. This position will be responsible for implementing and delivering the Y-2025 Strategic Plan for teens, organization-wide standards, and consistencies throughout all programs.

BA/BS and 3+ years of experience in afterschool, teen, camp, or similar youth related programs with program management experience OR 5+ years of experience in afterschool, teen, camp, or similar youth related programs with program management experience

Positive reputation and credibility among peers as a professional expert in association management best practices, strategic thinking and building and maintaining relationships

Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of solving complex problems

Good conflict resolution, influence, negotiation, and coaching skills

Ability to handle highly confidential information appropriately, exercise discretion as appropriate and remain sensitive to individual situations and needs

Commitment to excellence, innovation, creativity, teamwork, and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment

Demonstrated excellence in analytical thinking, problem solving, delegation and judgment

Proven successful experience in managing and developing senior staff and team members

Strategic leadership experience and strong communication skills as well as a high degree of emotional intelligence

Ability to effectively interact with co-workers and clients with diverse ethnic backgrounds, religious views, cultural backgrounds, lifestyles, and sexual orientation, and to treat individuals with respect and dignity

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

BA/BS in youth related field (Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education) or business/ operational management or youth related programs
