Cape was founded in early 2022 by Palantir and Anduril alums with deep expertise in privacy and national security. While running Palantir’s US national security business, our CEO became passionate about privacy and security on mobile devices. Our mission is to be a force for good in global wireless.

About You

• You have a deep understanding of how the telco industry thinks, speaks, and operates, and you’re hungry to apply this expertise to building the first privacy and security MVNO of it’s kind.

What you’ll do

• Develop and lead the implementation of the Enterprise architecture for our 4G/5G Core + OSS/BSS Elements and Key supporting systems.

• Understand architectural concepts, able to work with vendors, question the vendor on decisions you don’t agree with.

• Act as the Technical Authority for the combined LTE and EPC/5GC SA and NSA Core Operating framework and responsible for the design and technical delivery of the LTE EPC and 5G SA and NSA Cores Operating Architecture as well as Interactivity of all Private Tech Stack Applications for Telecom.

Qualifications

Preferred

• BS or MS in Engineering or technical degree or an equivalent combination of highly related experience and education.

• 8+ years of experience in the wireless industry

• Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to interact with technical and nontechnical teams

• Architectural experience in designing at least 4g or ideally 5g networks.

• Experience designing solutions within a functional telecom network.

• Should be familiar with architecture design impacts upon User Plane and Signal plane.

• Hands on experience with 4G or 5G core network design and implementation, including how 5G differs in scope and technology from previous generations.

• Knowledge and/or documented work experience in the following core functions: SMF / UPF / AMF / NRF / NSSF / PCF / UDM / AUSF / MME, SAEGW, SPGW, or ePDG.

• Cloud Native Architecture experience including micro services and containerization.

• General understanding of standard networking protocols and components such as HTTP, DNS, SRV6, TCP/IP, ICMP and load balancing.

• Understanding of LTE, VoLTE, 5G VoNR L2/L3 call flows with ability to understand and analyze traces (PCAP, GNB traces)

Nice to Have

• Extensive understanding in 5G ORAN / vRAN split functions (7-2x, RU, DU, CU, CP, UP...)

• Extensive understanding and experience in RAN/vRAN software architectures in a virtualized environment.

• Extensive understanding of RF Radio operations over eCPRI interfaces. Includes CSR, DU and timing configurations.

• Extensive understanding of software systems/services running virtualized ORAN functions.

• Understanding of latency considerations and issues from gNB to Data Center locations.

• Understanding and experience with virtualized networks, orchestration, and automation across a large network architecture.

• Thorough understanding of vRAN/ORAN architecture described in 3GPP standards (Rel 15 & 16).

• RF Design, Optimization and performance improvement experience is a plus

The salary range for this role is $160,000-225,000 a year + equity + 401K match. Within the range, individual pay is determined by experience, relevant education, and/or training.
