Our Critical Care Unit is part of a dynamic, teaching hospital environment that prioritizes clinical excellence and continuous learning. As a Chest Pain Center–accredited and Primary Stroke Center, we provide advanced, evidence-based care to high-acuity patients. Our integrated Cardiac Rehabilitation Program supports recovery beyond the bedside, while ongoing critical care education and specialized classes empower staff to expand their knowledge, sharpen skills, and grow professionally within a collaborative, patient-focused team.

How you'll contribute

A Telemetry Technician who excels in this role:

  • Under the supervision of an RN, performs telemetry monitoring.
  • Performs continual surveillance of multiple monitors.
  • Identifies significant arrhythmias and/or signs of patient distress and intervenes appropriately. Identifies and corrects for artifacts.
  • Reports abnormal assessment and telemetry findings or changes in patient physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
  • Tests equipment for proper working order. Reports equipment problems to supervisor.

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a High School Diploma (or equivalent). Additional requirements include:

  • Associate’s degree Preferred
  • EMT, EMT-P, CNA, SRNA, or CMA Preferred or completion of first semester clinical rotation in an accredited Nursing Degree Program (ADN or BSN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) obtained within 60 days of hire
  • Completion of Cardiac Telemetry Certification within 1 year of hire; Evidence of successful completion of Telemetry/Dysrhythmia course
  • Handle with Care preferred
  • Requires Critical thinking, decisive judgment, ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment; rapid learning and navigation of multiple software systems; effective English communication (read/write/speak); ability to complete the Skills Competency Checklist within 90 days of hire.
