Job Description - Temp Coordinator of Career Pathway Connections
POSITION SUMMARY
The Intern Project (TIP), an initiative from LA Promise Fund (LAPF), is dedicated to supporting LA County High School students in their first professional work experience.
This position will work with students in Los Angeles County to assist them with their internships, and provide ongoing support during the internship placements. The Coordinator also will work with the Associate Director that oversees TIP and the Career Pathway Connections team to lead career readiness workshops, manage paperwork, and plan events. This is a part-time non exempt position estimated 20-25 hours per week through August 2025.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
The temporary Coordinator of Career Pathway Connections will:
Track and organize all applications and paperwork with students, applicants, LATTC, and business partners - including submissions, contracts, K-12 forms, work permits, and more
Support all Career Skills workshops & Job coaching, slide decks presentations, calendaring, attending and facilitating events & workshops
Sample events include:
Workshops about Resumes, Linked In, Cover Letters, Applications, Letter of Recommendation, Mock Interview Preparation, information interviews and others as needed
Work with school staff and students on Dual Enrollment recruitment and paperwork support and follow up as it pertains to Coop-Ed
Record and edit short videos for CPC, TIP, & GB website and promotional purposes
Design and edit social media posts for Career Pathway Connection (CPC), Girls Build (GB), The Intern Project (TIP) events
School & student outreach for CPC, TIP, GB
Participate in student recruiting sessions and other marketing efforts
Support as an additional point of contact on each campus to ensure all goals are being met
Research, organize, and implement extracurricular activities for students
Other duties as assigned
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience
30 units of college courses towards a Degree in marketing/communications, business, education, STEM or other related field
At least 1 year experience working with students or within schools, preferably within K-12 Los Angeles schools
Ability to assist in the coordination of a program
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Technical Skills
An understanding of K-12 education, adult learning, and/or STEM
Fluent computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, presentation, and online communications (e.g., Google Suite, Zoom)
Familiarity with website maintenance and social media platforms
Soft Skills
Enjoys student and teacher engagement
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders in a diverse community
Resourceful, detail-oriented, able to multitask, prioritize and manage time effectively
Self-starter with a knack for problem-solving, networking, creating new relationships and opportunities
Entrepreneurial: a hard worker with a high energy level, action-oriented, and solution-oriented
Strong organizational, administrative, and project management skills
A strong collaborator, good listener and strategist; comfortable receiving input from many sources, and able to analyze and formulate disparate information into a sound, well-organized plan
Ability to work with and understand the needs of public and public charter school teachers
A flexible and adaptive individual willing to learn new systems and approaches as technology and platforms change

Must clear a LiveScan criminal background check
Must clear a TB Risk Assessment
Must complete Mandated Reporter training
