Temporary Archaeologists

Logan Simpson is an award-winning, multidisciplinary consulting firm that specializes in environmental consulting, cultural resource management, community planning, and landscape architecture design services. Logan Simpson has immediate openings for temporary Archaeologists to work out of our Salt Lake City, Utah office. This is primarily an office-based position (at least 75% of time) focused on management and processing of a variety of large and complex datasets, as well as some opportunity for fieldwork (up to 25% of time).

Responsibilities Include:

• Conduct online and in-person research.


• Assist in the preparation of technical archaeological reports.


• Assist with office tasks that include, but are not limited to, data management, background research, data entry, and other similar tasks.


• Complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner.


• Interact and work well as a team member.

Position Requires:

• Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology or closely related field or equivalent experience.


• Excellent writing and organizational skills.


• Proficient at using Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and Google Earth.


• Ability to follow the direction of supervisors.


• Ability to work in-person in our Salt Lake City office.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience preparing archaeological site forms and technical reports.


• Working knowledge of the National Register of Historic Places and Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act.


• Education and/or experience in the Great Basin or Southwest.


• Familiarity with Nevada Intermountain Antiquities Computer System (IMACS) forms.

Compensation:

This position is paid on an hourly basis between $22 to $25 per hour, depending on experience and education.
