The La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club is currently seeking a highly skilled Assistant Controller to join our team at our beautiful oceanfront property!

Schedule: 9am to 5:30, Monday to Friday


Rate: $65 - $80/hour


SUMMARY

To be assigned a series of special audit projects and reconciliations. To assist with development of financial reports and analysis tools. Promotes and follows LJBTC, Inc.'s standards and requirements ensuring a lasting impression of exemplary service resulting in supremely satisfied and loyal members and guests.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Take on taskforce audit projects and reconciliations for prior year balance sheets as assigned.

  • Reconcile prior year payroll journals.

  • Assist with development of new financial reports in Oracle NetSuite ERP.

  • Assist with development of new analysis reports/worksheets for payroll and labor management.

  • Assist with development of critical date list, contract and capital expenditure schedules.

  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in Business/Accounting; or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Five + years' experience in a hospitality finance or accounting or audit role preferred. Prior payroll reconciliation experience preferred. Prior experience utilizing Oracle NetSuite Financial ERP and creating Microsoft excel worksheets strongly preferred.


LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.


REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

SCHEDULING

This company operates seven days a week, 24 hours a day. Be aware that at times it may be necessary to move you from you accustomed schedule as task assignments demand. In addition, it should be understood that business needs determine the number of hours that you work.
