Temporary Bus Driver

Objective

As a Temporary Bus Driver, you will be responsible for driving team members to and from their designated stop in a safe and timely manner. Shuttle services will run between Pleasantville, NY and the NYC/Bronx area in the morning and evenings.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for driving shuttle buses safely and efficiently.


• Always signs keys in and out for vehicles in use and follows key control policy.


• Always performs pre-check of the vehicle in use. Checks for fluid leaks, fluid levels for radiator, battery, crankcase, blown bulbs, tire wear, and low pressure. Immediately reports damage to Supervisor.


• Keeps a written record of trips, mileages, purchases of gasoline, oil, and other materials


• Reports apparent major malfunctions and needed repairs to appropriate supervisory or maintenance staff.


• Washes and cleans vehicles, weekly and sweeps when necessary.


• Maintains a reasonable pace while driving the designated route. Stops only at designated bus stops and follows designated route unless otherwise advised by Supervisor.


• Must adhere to and maintain the manufacturer required maintenance schedule and deliver vehicle for such by working with the program coordinators and maintaining accurate records.

Compensation Range: $27.00-$29.00 per hour

Job Requirements

• Must possess a valid NYS Commercial Driver’s License (Class B or CDL) with passenger endorsement (no restrictions)


• Must be able to meet NYS insurance requirements.


• Prior experience driving the bus professionally is preferred.


• Pass Company mandated drug test


• Must obtain a current Driver Abstract from DMV


• Working knowledge of the Vehicle and Traffic Law as it applies to the safe and legal operation of vehicles operated.


• Working knowledge of simple automotive repair and maintenance procedures.


• Working knowledge of routes to specific locations.


• Ability to physically operate assigned vehicles safely and effectively under various road condition


• Ability to communicate orally to exchange information.
