The operation\u2019s commitment to utilizing advanced technologies and sustainable practices strongly emphasizes safety and environmental stewardship. \n\n## What You Will Do\n\nThis entry-level position supports operations and/or maintenance areas in an industrial setting. Employees work in environments where the primary objective is safe production. There are many work activities taking place at one time, and work tasks may change many times during a work shift. \n\n * Area housekeeping to include tasks such as shoveling, using a fire hose, and digging\n * Operation of processing/mobile equipment\n * Material lifting/handling/loading\n * Operation of hand/power tools\n * Equipment/facility inspection and maintenance\n * Other tasks as assigned\n\n\n\n## What You Bring To Freeport\n\nMinimum Qualifications \n\n * Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in English\n * Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards\n\n\n\nPreferred\n\n * High School diploma or GED\n\n\n\nWhat We Offer You \n\nThe estimated pay range for this role is currently $23.00-$23.50/hour. \n\nWhat We Require \n\n * Candidates may be required to pass a medical exam. \n * Candidates must pass all required training and/or testing. \n * Employees may be required to work a non-standard schedule, which may include shift work (other than day shift) at a 24/7, 365-day operation. \n * Freeport-McMoRan promotes a drug/alcohol-free work environment using mandatory pre-employment drug testing and on-going drug and alcohol testing, as allowed by applicable laws. \n * Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment\n * Employee may be required to work in environments that may include exposure to extreme temperatures, humidity, dust, noise, fumes, and gasses\n * Frequently may be required to lift up to 50 pounds during the course of the work day\n * Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required\n * \n\n\nEqual Opportunity Employer \n\nPlease be advised that Freeport-McMoRan will never request payment for job-related expenses from applicants.
