Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our finance team in Brentwood. This role is ideal for an early-career accounting professional looking to build a strong foundation in general ledger accounting within a collaborative corporate environment. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for monthly journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting the monthly financial close process.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and post monthly journal entries accurately and timely.


• Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and investigate outstanding items.


• Assist with month-end close activities and ensure adherence to established deadlines.


• Analyze account activity and research discrepancies as needed.


• Maintain supporting schedules and documentation for assigned accounts.


• Utilize Excel to organize, analyze, and reconcile financial data.


• Support accounting department projects and process improvement initiatives.


• Collaborate with finance team members to ensure accurate financial reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.


• 0-2 years of accounting experience, including internships or entry-level accounting roles.


• Understanding of general ledger accounting principles and basic accounting concepts.


• Strong Excel skills, including the ability to work with formulas, spreadsheets, and data analysis.


• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.


• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.


• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with journal entries and account reconciliations.


• Exposure to month-end close processes.


• Experience working with accounting software or ERP systems.
