Job Description - Territory Manager


  

Position Summary: 

This position is responsible for understanding and developing assigned territory to maximize and grow revenue and profits by selling Threaded Fasteners product solutions to existing customers and acquiring new business. This position reports directly to the Vice President of Commercial Sales

Duties and Responsibilities: 

· Develop an in-depth knowledge of Threaded Fasteners’ core products via successful completion of required sales training program, and utilize this knowledge to successfully sell Threaded Fasteners product solutions to new and existing customers in assigned territory 

· Create and execute a territory sales plan that meets or exceeds established sales quotas and supports Company revenue and profit targets 

· Optimize business development plan by working closely with Assistant Sales Managers to maximize time in the field and overall efficiency through development and prequalification of leads 

· Meet regularly with existing customers and prospects in sales territory to understand their evolving business needs and position product solutions to meet surfaced needs 

· Continuously expand customer understanding and use Threaded Fasteners product solutions and capabilities 

· Build long-term, productive, and mutually beneficial relationships with existing and new customers 

· Maintain consistent communication and timely follow-up with customers and prospects and be available and responsive to customer’s real-time needs 

· Work effectively with internal support departments (marketing, professional services, product development) to promote sales for new and existing customers to maximize Threaded Fasteners’ visibility in the market. 

· Complete sales activity reports and presentations in a timely manner. 

· Other duties may be assigned. 


Requirements

  

Education and Experience Required:

· HS Diploma or GED Equivalent from an accredited institution

· B.A., Business, Finance or other related field preferred, or equivalent work experience

· Minimum of 3 years’ sales experience with fasteners or fastener-related products, with revenue cycle experience. 

Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills:

· Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a high level of confidence.

· Experience selling at C-Suite level, VP or Director of Procurement/Purchasing

· Demonstrated sales track record, new sales track record & quota attainment 

· Understanding of basic computer technology (Prophet 21 preferred, MS Office required)

· Demonstrated effectiveness in new business development and lead qualification 

· Creative thinker with the ability to resolve critical problems.

· Ability to travel moderately within assigned territory

· Ability to analyze the market and target potential clients.

· A positive attitude, effective problem-solving ability, and dedication to providing optimal customer service.

· The desire to practice integrity and professionalism in all aspects of the business.

Physical Requirements: Qualified applicants must be able to perform the following physical job requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation:

  • Must be able to lift up-to 25 pounds      for 1+ hours per day 
  • Must be able to sit, stand and walk for 7+ hours per day
  • Must be able to perform simple grasping for 7+ hours per shift
  • Must be able to perform simple grasping, push, pull, perform fine manipulation, and feel for 6+ hours per shift
  • Must be able to make fine distinctions in sound, express and exchange written or spoken word, and distinguish objects and equipment visually
