Job Description

Uvalde Proving Grounds (UPG) is home to Continental Tire R&D North America and sits on nearly 5,000 acres in Uvalde, Texas. Consisting of over 30 test surfaces and specialty areas UPG is ideal for year-round private and comprehensive testing. Our Uvalde, TX location is seeking a Test Engineer to join our Grip Testing department in the Continental Tire Proving Grounds.

THE POSITION
The Test Engineer will coordinate and perform grip tests, develop, and update test procedures, evaluate, and communicate test results to internal and external customers, ensuring data quality and reliability. The position also includes understanding operational goals, collecting requirements, writing designs, implementing, maintaining, hardware and software testing tools. Test Engineer for Grip department at UPG.
Core Responsibilities:
Responsible for coordinating and evaluating tire performance, benchmark, and legal tests.
Evaluate and communicate results to customers, ensuring data quality and reliability.
Oversee preventive and regular maintenance of test vehicles/equipment.
Assist in development of new test methods.

Qualifications

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor of Science in Applied Physics, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent engineering degree from an accredited university.
2 years of practical related experience
Ability to communicate effectively with team members and customers, demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
Analytical problem-solving skills to troubleshoot complex issues.
Experience with such as but not limited to Excel, Python and Visual Basic.
Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.

Master Degree in Applied Physics, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering
5 years of related practical experience
