Test Engineering Director

NETGEAR is seeking a technically exceptional and hands-on Test Engineering Director to lead the development and deployment of advanced test solutions for our networking products. This role requires deep programming expertise, strong project leadership, and a solid foundation in networking protocols, hardware validation, and embedded systems testing.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of automated test systems for functional and system-level validation of consumer and enterprise networking products.

• Architect and code robust, reusable test frameworks using modern programming languages (e.g., Python, C/C++, LabVIEW, or similar).

• Define and drive test strategies for new product introductions (NPI), including test coverage, automation, and yield optimization.

• Collaborate with R&D, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to ensure test solutions align with product and operational goals.

• Oversee test infrastructure and ensure readiness across manufacturing partners.

• Manage and mentor a distributed team of test engineers and contractors.

• Own test documentation including test plans, procedures, and technical specifications.

• Monitor and improve KPIs such as test yield, cycle time, and field return rates.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

• 10+ years of experience in test engineering, with demonstrated project leadership experience.

• Strong programming skills and hands-on experience developing test automation frameworks.

• Deep understanding of networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DHCP, VLAN, Wi-Fi standards) and hardware validation techniques.

• Proven experience with embedded systems and firmware-level testing.

• Familiarity with MES systems, data analytics, and test data visualization tools.

• Proven track record of deploying test solutions in high-volume manufacturing environments.

• Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills.

• Experience working with global teams and manufacturing partners.
