The Test Lab Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the Production Test Lab. In this role, you will work closely with the Engineers and manage a team of Test Lab Technicians. This role involves tracking cell batches, planning workloads, and ensuring technicians correctly execute the process steps from formation to final electrical test while maintaining a safe and organized lab environment in compliance with industry safety standards. The supervisor will also mentor team members and document that training to Standard Operating Procedures is followed. The responsibility of the supervisor includes coordination of equipment maintenance and repairs to ensure the throughput of the test lab meets production goals.
Job Responsibilities
Supervise a team of Test Lab Technicians and manage their workload daily along with organizing, training and development.
Work with engineering teams to prioritize and plan safety, reliability, characterization, and compliance tests.
Collect and develop metrics to track and ensure team performance meets the production targets.
Lead prototype engineering build batteries for test execution according to detailed work instructions or schematics.
Support scoping and installation of new automation equipment.
Coordinate test equipment periodic maintenance, repairs, and calibration with the technician team or outside vendors.
Perform safety audits and implement company safety policies for test lab work and personal protective equipment.
Develop and champion operational policies and procedures for test organization that foster an environment of safety, ownership, and efficiency.
Ensure all lab areas are maintained, clean, and organized.
Maintain purchase orders for lab tools, supplies, and consumables.
Communicate and work collaboratively with cross functional teams of technicians & engineers.
Physical Demands & Work Location:
Fremont, CA: This is an on-site job. Reliable commute or planning to relocate before starting work is required.
Be able to lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds.
May be required to stand, sit, squat, bend, kneel, twist, crawl, reach, lift, balance, push, and pull.
Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including, but not limited to, a lab coat, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, respirator and safety shoes.

Qualifications
3+ years of supervising a battery test lab team or similar team.
5+ years of experience working in a highly demanding manufacturing environment preferably battery cell manufacturing.
Strong judgment and problem-solving skills with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Highly organized, self-motivated, and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.
Detail-oriented, resourceful, and diligent with strong record-keeping and organizational skills.
Adhere to the company’s quality and safety requirements.
Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 and database applications.
Education, Certifications, Experience
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
Six Sigma and other related manufacturing certifications are preferred.
Benefits
Comprehensive compensation package includes base salary + RSUs. Salary range for this role is $140,000 to $155,000. Base salary will be determined based on knowledge, experience, and education.
