Job Summary: Coordinates the center disability program with center staff and directs student testing on center. Demonstrates a high degree of discipline within testing areas to maintain appropriate testing environment.   

Duties:

  • Participates in the Reasonable Accommodation Committee (RAC) and works closely with Health and Wellness Director to determine students’ reasonable accommodations. 
  • Review learning accommodations summited during enrollment and contacts students during Admissions to review listed accommodations. 
  • Enters required student accommodations into CIS.
  • Work closely with EWS staff and develop accommodation plans for those students who may need additional assistance during Evening and Weekend hours. 
  • Maintains a high degree of discipline within testing area to maintain appropriate testing environment
  • Establishes a high degree of student rapport
  • Is accountable for cleanliness, which includes materials and equipment left in an organized manner at the completion of the test period
  • Participates in student performance evaluation panels, education meetings or other student-staff-oriented functions
  • Initiates all requisitions on supplies needed for testing within his/her classroom
  • Makes recommendations to supervisor on improvements in their subject areas
  • Sets up and performs a continuous testing schedule that includes courses needed for GED testing
  • Sets up and performs a continuous TABE Testing schedule that includes initial test on all students. Follow-up tests will be given in accordance with TABE test policies
  • Prescribes written diagnostics to instructors 
  • Conducts workshops to assist instructors for classroom remediation
  • Submits testing results to Academic Supervisor
  • Meets with the Academic Supervisor, and Academic Instructors to discuss new trends, techniques, and problems with the learning gains
  • Posts results of all scores 
  • Recommends changes in testing materials when needed
  • Initiate requisition for Pre-GED tests
  • Works towards meeting performance management goals
  • Follows CDSS/CSS/BMS plan and procedures daily
  • Maintains good housekeeping in all areas and complies with safety practices
  • Complies with all DOL guidelines, OFCCP regulations, Job Corps notices and bulletins, and Center policies and procedures
  • Models appropriate employability skills for dress, language, and work habits
  • Performs other duties as assigned within the individual’s scope and capabilities

Requirements

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw related conclusion. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instruction and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Experience: One to two years related experience and/or training

Education: High School Diploma/High School Equivalent required. Associate Degree preferred.   

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Driver’s License
