Founded in 1985 by Board Chair Hon. John V. Lindsay, Executive Producer Bernard Gersten and Director Gregory Mosher, and led for 33 years by André Bishop, LCT is one of the leading nonprofit theaters in the country, producing an annual season of plays and musicals that have been seen by millions around the globe. It is one of 11 autonomous constituents of the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts. Each year, the three theaters that make up LCT welcome nearly 400,000 audience members to its home on the Lincoln Center campus   
 
Over the last 40 years, LCT and its outstanding productions have received many of the highest accolades, including 91 Tony Awards, 181 Drama Desk Awards, 84 Outer Critics Circle Awards, 36 Obies, 13 NY Drama Critics Circle Awards, and one Pulitzer Prize, as well as two finalists.

Position Summary: 


The Theater Manager LCT3/Claire Tow Theater (ATPAM Manager position)
is an integral part of the 
Company and House Management team. This individual acts as the primary liaison between the company, front-of-house, box office, and backstage teams during rehearsal periods and showtimes, and oversees audience services to uphold the theater’s reputation for excellent customer experience.  


 


Responsibilities: 


The Theater Manager LCT3/Claire Tow Theater is responsible for the day-to-day administrative and logistical operations and ensuring the smooth running of productions, as well as a welcoming, safe, and smooth front-of-house experience for all patrons, staff, and artists during performances and events.  


 


This role works closely with General ManagementArtistic, Production, Finance, and People and Culture teams to support artists, stage managers, and creative personnel. The role will report to the Artistic Director of LCT3 & Producer, and will manage Claire Tow Theater-related personnel. 


 


The ideal candidate is a member in good standing of ATPAM, highly organized, proactive, and thrives in a fast-paced theatrical environment with a positive manner. 
 


Responsibilities: 


Company Management: 



  • Manage company operations for all productions, workshops, and special events. 



  • Assist with the processing of contracts, union paperwork (including but nolimited to AEA, SDC, USA, Local One), and process weekly payroll. 



  • Coordinate travel, housing, and per diem arrangements for visiting artists and creative teams. 



  • Track and process reimbursements, petty cash, and company credit card expenses. 



  • Maintain accurate company files, contact lists, and production schedules. 



  • Serve as a point of contact for company members, addressing day-to-day questions or concerns with discretion and professionalism. 


Patron Experience & Front-of-House Operations: 



  • Greet and assist patrons, ensuring a positive and professional experience from arrival to departure. 



  • Manage the lobby and theater space before, during, and after performances. 



  • Resolve customer service issues or patron concerns promptly and professionally. 



  • Coordinate late seating and manage house entrance procedures in collaboration with stage management. 



  • Assist with merchandise sales, special events, and concessions (if applicable). 



  • Monitor inventory of front-of-house supplies and request reorders as needed. 


Staff Supervision: 



  • Train, schedule and supervise ushers, and other front-of-house personnel. 



  • Ensure FOH staff are prepared for performance needs and emergency protocols. 


Safety & Accessibility: 



  • Enforce fire code regulations and ADA accessibility accommodations. 



  • Must obtain a Certificate of Fitness by the FDNYCategory F03, Indoor Place of Assembly Safety Personnel. 



  • Be the point of contact for any in-theater emergencies or evacuations. 



  • Maintain cleanliness and safety of public areas. 


Coordination & Communication: 



  • Communicate with box office, production, company, and stage management teams about show timing, seating holds, special accommodations, and audience issues. 



  • Submit house reports detailing audience attendance, incidents, and front-of-house notes after each performance. 



  • Assist in coordinating opening nights, company events, and production-related hospitality. 



  • Communicate regularly with production and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth operations between departments. 



  • Provide general administrative support to the General Management team as needed. 


 


 
Skills and Qualifications: 



  • Must be a member in good standing of ATPAM. 



  • Prior Company and House management experience preferred. 



  • Strong Excel and/or payroll computational skills . Familiarity with Checks & Balances payroll system is a plus, but not required. 



  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. 



  • High level of discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive information. 



  • Calm under pressure, professional, and tactful in challenging situations. 



  • Must work evenings, weekends, and holidays in alignment with performance and production schedules. 



  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain). 



  • Passion for theater and commitment to excellent audience service. 


 
 


Compensation & Benefits: 


This year-round position will be paid in accordance with an Off-Broadway ATPAM (Association of Theatrical Press Agents and Managers) contract, above scale, for a period of 52 continuous weeks annually.
