Summary of Position:
Are you passionate about high quality live music, dance and theater productions? Do you have skills at all levels of theater production from wardrobe or costume construction? Do you have experience in front facing customer roles or similar hospitality positions? Does working with a dynamic team across stages both indoors and outdoors align with your skillsets? Come join the Theater Tech Department at Scottsdale Arts as one of our Artists Services Assistants and/or Wardrobe Theater Technicians.
Important Details to Know:
· Compensation: Range begins at $16.48 per hour dependent on show position and need.
· Shift/Hours: Depending on show needs. This position does not have consistent hours and does not have a minimum amount of hours required per week.

Here is what you will get to do:
· Assists in the set-up and strike requirements for specific events including the artist green room, dressing rooms, laundry/wardrobe room, merchandise, and VIP Events.
· May act as a liason for artist signings, VIP events, meet & greets, and various other artist needs.
· Must work from oral and written instructions specific to the event.
· Assists with maintenance of all theater equipment and workspaces related to hospitality/wardrobe.
· Ensures safe working environment at all times.
· Performs other duties as required
· Once hired you are eligible for other technical positions, based on experience if desired.
Here is what you will need to be successful:
1. Education: High School, GED or equivalent in experience in addition to the experience line.
2. Experience: Any combination equivalent to two years’ experience within the fields of wardrobe/ costume construction, retail, customer service, and/or hospitality.
3. Attributes:
· Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with staff, visiting artists, and general public.
· Ability to embody the organization’s high standards of customer service and passion for the arts in an engaging, proactive, professional manner.
· Ability to demonstrate skills in organization, attention to detail, communication, diplomacy, teamwork, driving, flexibility, and time management
· Ability to read, analyze, and interpret hospitality riders and other applicable documents for a wide variety of performing arts events
· Ability to respond to common inquires or complaints from artists or staff and be able to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized and non-standard situations
· Ability to add, subtract and calculate percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations, typically relating to merchandise settlements and budget tracking
· Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
· Comfortable with handling money and artist merchandise
4. Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. Noise level is moderate to heavy. Non-smoking work environment. This position requires the availability for a flexible schedule that includes weekdays, evenings and weekends working as needed. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk and stand for long periods of time. Must sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel, see, reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee must lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distant and color vision. Must be agile enough to work on catwalks up to 45 feet above ground.
5. Other requirements:
· Must possess valid driver’s license and driving record which is acceptable to the organization’s insurance carrier. · Must be Arizona TIPS trained and maintain current Arizona TIPS certification; must have valid and current Maricopa County Food Handlers Safety card within 3 months of hire.
- Must be 18 years of age or older
· Current CPR, AED and First Aid certification required, or obtained within 3 months of hire.
