PREAMBLE

Boston College High School is a Catholic, Jesuit, independent school serving approximately 1300 young men across grades 7-12 from various communities across Massachusetts. Founded in 1863, Boston College High School continues its commitment to an authentic formation of the head, heart, and hands within the parameters of the Characteristics of Jesuit Education, the Ignatian Pedagogical Paradigm, the BC High Mission Statement, and the strategic plan. 

ROLE PURPOSE

Boston College High School seeks a full-time Catholic Theology teacher for the 2025-2026 academic year, beginning in August 2025. 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITES

• Full-time teaching position including four or five classes.
• Possible content areas include but are not limited to Catholic Ethics, Social Justice, Hebrew & Christian Scripture, and Jesuits/Ignatius in the global context.
• Possible ages include 7-12th grades.

OTHER DUTIES (AS APPLICABLE) 

• Weekly advising or mentoring of students. 
• Proctoring duties as necessary. 
• Extra-curricular engagement (Examples: retreats, student-led clubs, theater, athletics)

Requirements

SELECTION CRITERIA

• A Master’s Degree in Theology and/or Divinity Studies is preferred, but not required. 
• Experience teaching at the middle school or high school level. 
• Knowledge of, and commitment to, diversity, equity, and inclusion practices.
• A commitment to collaborating with colleagues in curriculum design and teaching practices.
• High standards and expectations for students.
• Proficiency with educational technology and learning management systems (ex: Canvas).
• Commitment to the School’s Catholic, Jesuit Mission.
