Union: IUOE Site: Toronto Western Hospital Department: Facility Management Services Reports to: Chief Engineer & Manager, Facilities Operations Salary: $39.53 per hour(in accordance with the collective agreement) Status: Permanent Full-Time Hours: 80 Hours Bi-weekly Shifts: Various Posted Date: April 11, 2024 Closing Date: April 18, 2024 Position Summary: In compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and its regulations, the principal responsibilities of the Third Class Operating Engineer include: operating and maintaining the building automation system, boiler and chiller plant, fire alarm, pneumatic tube, medical gas, other mechanical/electrical systems or equipment; responding to and troubling shooting calls from various departments. Qualifications
Completion of Grade XII or equivalent Ontario Third Class Stationary Engineer’s Certificate Two years related experience preferable in a hospital environment Ability to read, write, understand and communicate in English Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electric HVAC schematics Experience with the operations of a facilities Building Automation System (BAS) an asset Ability to keyboard and have basic computer skills an asset Must have an electro/mechanical aptitude Must have excellent interpersonal and customer services skills Additional Information
