Job Description:

General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) is a premier provider of high-tech IT solutions to the federal government IT market. Together as GDIT we collectively deliver cost-effective, next-generation IT solutions and services to the Department of Defense, the intelligence community, and other federal civilian agencies as they modernize their information systems. GDIT currently has an expanding program with 75+ people providing systems development, operational/Tier 3 and infrastructure support, and application/Tier 2 support to the Administrative Systems Office (ASO) of the Administrative Office of the US Courts. GDIT is currently seeking a candidate to provide Tier 3/O&M support services for the Judicial Facilities Asset and Construction Tracking System (JFACTS). JFACTS is a legacy, custom Java application built with a Web Sphere Portal platform that requires operational support, to include occasional development. This position will also support the Judiciary Space (JSPACE) project as it relates to migrating services from JFACTS to JSPACE.

This position will support three key areas for the system and for the organization –

Operations Support
System Changes
Technical Support

Duties And Responsibilities:

The candidate will be expected to provide dedicated O&M support as outlined below:

Perform recurring Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) activities of GSA data using Pentaho Data Integration (PDI).
Use Bash Shell, JavaScript, and SQL to run required scripts.
Support regularly scheduled security scans; mitigate identified vulnerabilities within specified timeframes.
Provide Interface and integration management support.
Provide and/or support technical development.
Create system related training materials.
Provide critical issue response and resolution support.
Identify, research, and resolve reported issues surrounding the supported applications.
Support various testing activities, either by performing system testing, unit testing, or supporting the Testing Services Division’s testing activities.
Add or update application referential data.
Coordinate with the client to review work requests for priority, authorization, and acceptance.
Use the shared SDLC resources provided by the client, including Jira, Gitlab, Fortify, and Sonatype.
Perform development activities to address mandatory changes to input files formats.
Deliver reports verifying data loads, scripts ran, and other technical reporting as requested.
Create or update system documentation, processes, operating procedures, and other documentation required to manage the system and supporting applications.
Document work activities, including completed work, planned work, project milestones, issues, and risks in the Monthly Status Report (MSR), In-Process Review (IPR), client status report, and other documents describing work performed.
Provide recommendations to mitigate application issues and risks, best practices, and other recommendations to improve system operations.
Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications, Experience And Competencies:

Java source code, JSF, JPA
Java Application Server, WebSphere preferred.
GitLab
Jenkins
IBM DB2 or experience in another SQL database
Red Hat Enterprise Linux (basic Linux sys admin skills, i.e., install, update, configure packages with Yum)
SQL query
REST API
Pentaho Data Integration, ETL or similar ETL tool (i.e., Talend)
Some experience with Windows Server, Windows Task Scheduler, Windows IIS

Desired Qualifications, Experience, And Competencies:

Five (5) plus years of relevant operations and maintenance support experience with a major federal IT system.

Google Location API
Experience and knowledge in principles and practices of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
Understanding of IT practices, service management, governance frameworks, and industry standards (i.e., ITIL, ITSM, COBIT, ISO).
Proficiency in business tools, such as, Word, Excel, Power-Point, Visio, SharePoint, Teams, etc.
Excellent written and verbal skills.
Ability to work independently and with limited guidance.
Ability to analyze complex data and present findings in a clear and easily understood manner.
Ability to present recommendations for consideration and influence as needed.

Specialized Experience:

Working knowledge of IT tracking tools, preferably Jira.

Education And Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field and 10+ years of experience.
