About the Job:

Join our growing Title Services team as a Title Examiner! In this role, you’ll apply title underwriter guidelines to generate accurate title commitments, review search results to determine insurability and transaction-specific requirements, and calculate title premiums. You’ll partner closely with our underwriter support unit and customers to resolve title issues and help ensure smooth, successful closings.

What You Will Do: 

• Review recorded documents and chain of title to determine insurability.


• Assembles requirements on the title insurance commitment necessary to insure the title request, as per the title underwriter requirements and guidelines.


• Calculates premiums and assists with the preparations and approval of documents.


• Reads and maps legal descriptions.


• Construction Draws and Endorsements.


• Policy Preparation and Completion.


• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• High School Diploma or GED.


• 5+ Years of Prior Title Insurance Examiner Experience.


• Must hold Michigan Resident Title Producer License.


• Excellent Communication, Organization, Analytical Skills, and Attention to detail.


• Must be able to draw and understand legal descriptions.


• Ability to apply underwriter criteria and guidelines of search results to generate an accurate title commitment.


• Computer Skills with preferable experience with SoftPro software.
