Job Description - TN - Legal Assistant

Legal Assistant:  TN Office


 


Reno & Cavanaugh, PLLC, a law firm with offices in Washington, DC, Nashville, TN, Columbia, MD and New York, NY, seeks a Legal Assistant for the transactional real estate practice in our Nashville, TN office.


 


The ideal candidate will be proactive, organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Candidates considered must be able to work well both independently and within a team. Strong administrative, time management, and communication skills are required.


 


As a Legal Assistant, your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


 



  1. Providing support to attorneys and paralegals with extensive document management, preparing legal documents and correspondence, editing and proofreading documents, maintaining transactional spreadsheets, and assisting with closing and post-closing logistics and closing binder assembly.

  2. Assisting in filing organizational documents, saving and directing incoming and outgoing documents, and overseeing document checklists.  Organizing and maintaining files, both physical and electronic.

  3. Maintaining client contact information, coordinating and attending team and client meetings, and assembling outgoing packages.


 


Required Experience:


 



  1. A college degree or relevant work experience is preferred. Experience in a law firm or busy office is a plus.

  2. Candidates should be comfortable working in a large professional environment, and have working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly with Word, Excel, and Outlook.

  3. Excellent technical, interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills are essential to be successful in this position.

This full-time position is 5 days a week in the office, with an option to work a hybrid schedule of 4 days a week in the office after 1 year.  May require overtime during peak periods or to meet deadlines.  Time worked in excess of 40 hours per week will be paid at time and one-half of the hourly rate.
