Job Description - Tool & Die Machinist

Eaton\u2019s ES GEIS CHD division is currently seeking a Tool \u0026 Die Machinist.\n\nThe hourly rate for this position is $28.21 per hour.\n\nPlease note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. \n\n## What you\u2019ll do:\n\nPOSITION SUMMARY \nWe are seeking a skilled Machinist and Die Repair Specialist to join our team at our manufacturing facility located in Washington, PA. The successful candidate in this position will play an integral role in maintaining production functionality by maintaining and repairing complex dies to ensure our uninterrupted production of our high-quality steel boxes. This is a hands-on position that gives you the ability to work with you hands and see the direct impact of your labor on a day to day basis. \n \n\n\nKEY ATTRACTIONS \nStep into a role that\u2019s central to our success at our well-established steel outlet box manufacturing facility. As a Machinist/Die Repair, you\u2019ll:\n\n\u2022 Advanced Skill Development: Opportunity to hone high-level machinist skills, particularly in die repair Using state of the art equipment \n\u2022 Technical Challenge and Diversity: Engage in varied and challenging tasks, from precision machining to complex die repairs, ensuring a dynamic and engaging work experience \n\u2022 Impactful work: Direct contribution to the quality and efficiency of product manufacturing, playing a crucial role in the company\u2019s success \n\u2022 Continuous Learning and Improvement: Opportunities for ongoing training and development to have a direct impact on the production facility and the improvement of our machines \n\u2022 Safety First Culture: Work in an environment that prioritizes safety, ensuring a healthy and secure workplace.\n\n \nDUTIES \u0026 RESPONSIBILITIES \nThis position is responsible for monitoring one or various production lines and operations in accordance with plant policies and procedures, ensuring smooth production operation during the shift. Some specific duties include:\n\n\u2022 Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to set up and operate machine tools for outlet box construction. \n\u2022 Perform precision machining operations, including cutting, drilling, grinding, milling and turning to fabricate parts and components. \n\u2022 Inspect and measure machined components to ensure they meet precise specifications \nConduct regular maintenance and repairs on dies including disassembling, diagnosing faults, and performing intricate repairs. \n\u2022 Specialize in the repair of progressive and compound dies, ensuring they function efficiently and effectively. \n\u2022 Modify and adjust dies for new product specifications and enhancements \n\u2022 Troubleshoot and resolve issues with dies to minimize downtime and maintain production schedules \n\u2022 Implement and follow rigorous safety standards and protocols, particularly in handling heavy machinery and sharp tools\n\n## Qualifications:\n\nBasic Requirements: \n\u2022 Ability to machine and construct tooling to drawing specifications to meet production need \n\u2022 Ability to read, alter CAD drawings and blueprints \n\u2022 Ability to use manual lathes, mills, grinders, etc. to fabricate process equipment \n\u2022 Familiarity with machining a variety of tool steel material and including D2, A2, and copper. \n \n\n\nPreferred Qualifications: \n\u2022 Associate degree related to Tool and Machining or 2 years of machining experience. \n\u2022 Experience in building die tooling for stamping/manufacturing processes. \n\u2022 Welding TIG/MIG experience \n\u2022 Familiarity with steel heat treating process \n\nWe are committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for all job applicants and employees.
