Love Toolmaking, But Ready for Something Different?
You've spent years developing your tool and die skills. You enjoy working with your hands, solving problems, and figuring out how to make things work better.
But maybe you're ready for something a little different.
What if you could put your toolmaking experience to work in a role that offers more variety, opportunities to learn new technologies, and a different pace than a traditional tool shop?
At Res Manufacturing, we're looking for an experienced toolmaker to join our Technical Services team. This isn't your typical toolmaker position.
Yes, you'll troubleshoot, repair, and maintain progressive stamping dies. But you'll also have opportunities to work with manufacturing equipment, automation, robotic welding systems, sensor technology, and other technical projects that support our production operation.
And here's the best part: You don't need to know all those technologies today. We're willing to train an experienced toolmaker who has a strong mechanical foundation, enjoys learning, and wants to expand their capabilities.
What Makes This Job Different?
- More variety, less routine. Your work won't be limited to building and repairing dies. You'll help troubleshoot equipment, improve processes, and support a variety of manufacturing technologies.
- Expand your technical skills. Interested in robotic welding programming, automation, sensors, or equipment repair? We'll help you develop those skills.
- A different work environment. Instead of working in a traditional tool shop, you'll be part of an internal Technical Services team focused on supporting and improving our manufacturing operation.
- Use your experience in new ways. Your toolmaking knowledge provides the foundation for solving a much broader range of technical challenges.
- A four-day workweek. Work Monday through Thursday, with 10-hour shifts starting at either 5:00 or 6:00 a.m. Overtime when available.
- A place where your contributions matter. As part of a smaller manufacturing company, you'll work closely with production and engineering teams, and you'll see the impact of your work firsthand.
What You'll Do
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain progressive stamping dies and secondary tooling.
- Troubleshoot, install, and wire sensor systems.
- Support production by identifying and resolving tooling and equipment issues.
- Perform preventive maintenance and help improve equipment reliability.
- Apply your machining and mechanical troubleshooting skills to a variety of projects.
- Support automation, equipment modifications, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Learn and develop additional technical capabilities based on your interests and the needs of our manufacturing operation.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for an experienced toolmaker who takes pride in their work, enjoys solving problems, and is interested in doing more than traditional tool repair.
Ideally, you'll bring:
- At least 3 years of tool and die experience, preferably in metal stamping.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and machining skills.
- Experience troubleshooting tooling both at the bench and in the press.
- A practical, hands-on approach to problem-solving.
- A willingness to learn, adapt, and take on new challenges.
- A collaborative attitude and a desire to contribute to a team.
You don't need experience in robotics, automation, or programming. If you bring solid toolmaking skills and the curiosity to learn something new, we'll help you build on that foundation.
