Tooling Machinist II

  WHAT YOU WILL DO:

· You will support plastic component manufacturing and assembly for medical equipment products such as surgical robots and interventional carts using various plastics manufacturing methods including:

– CNC Machining

– Liquid Resin Casting (rigid & elastomeric polyurethane & silicone)

– Pressure Thermoforming

– Commercial Additive Manufacturing (3D printing)

– Finishing (wet painting & conductive coating)

· You will develop, troubleshoot, and resolve issues relating to the machining of plastic and aluminum parts for daily production.

· You will support engineering tests, continuous improvement projects and new tooling validations.

· You will maintain a clean work area and perform scheduled preventive maintenance on machining equipment in the tool shop.

· You will ensure assignments are completed to support daily production goals through effective time management.

· You will observe all safety protocols for machining equipment and report potential safety hazards and needed repairs to your management team as needed.

  MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

· High School Diploma.

· 4+ years of work experience in plastics or aluminum machining, preferably in the automotive, aeronautical, or medical devices industry.

· 4+ years of work experience reading and interpreting technical drawings and G-code

· 3+ years of work experience with Mastercam 2024 or similar system for creating CAD surfaces and tool paths.

· Proficiency using 3-Axis CNC (Fadal preferred), machining and cutting tools: table saw, drill press, milling machine, lathe, belt/disc sander and various hand tools.

· Ability to lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs, unassisted.

· Strong organizational and time management skills.

· Available for occasional overtime and weekend work.

· Fluency in English.

PREFERED SKILLS:

· Medical device and/or regulatory industry experience (IATF 16949, AS 9100 D), with preference for ISO-13485 and ISO 9001.

· Experience with 5-Axis tool path programming.

· Proficiency in GD&T and 3D modeling software such as SolidWorks.

· Forklift and/or welding experience. 

· Strong technical, documentation and communication skills.
