Tow Truck Driver

Job Description
Responsible for using a truck to transport vehicles. Also required to perform vehicle inspections before and after each trip, and assist in loading and unloading.

Responsibilities:

• Transport vehicles over land to and from points of origin to destination sites.
• Plan routes and meet delivery schedules.
• Document and log work/rest periods and miles spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts
• Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures.
• Maneuver truck into loading or unloading positions.
• Collect and verify delivery instructions.
• Inspect tow truck for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance.
• Report defects, accidents or violations.
• Other duties and responsibilities as required.

Qualifications:

• Proven work experience as a truck driver.
• Ability to drive trucks and tow trailers.
• Knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations.
• No recent moving or driving violations in the last 3 years.
• Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc.).
• Willing to submit to background/drug checks.
• Physical dexterity. Good hand-eye-foot coordination.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Awareness of, and ability to adhere to, safety standards at all times.
• Must have demonstrated ability to work under minimal supervision
• Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
• Must be available to work a five day work week.

License:

• CDL a plus

Job Type:
