Tractor Technician (Class 8 Diesel)

Location: Omaha, NE 

Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday (Tuesday–Saturday option); 1st shift 7:00am–3:30pm or 2nd shift 2:00pm–10:30pm

Do you hear an engine knock and know what’s up? Hill Bros is looking for a hands-on Tractor Technician to join our shop team and keep our Class 8 fleet safe, compliant, and on the road. If you’re comfortable turning a wrench, chasing down a fault code, or knocking out a solid PM, this could be your shop. We do just about everything in-house except warranty work.

What You’ll Do

• Keep the Fleet Rolling: Perform preventative maintenance and routine service on Class 8 tractors, and on trailers when      needed
• Diagnose and Fix: Troubleshoot and repair engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, and electrical systems
• Stay Road-Ready: Inspect before and after repairs to make sure every unit meets DOT and company safety standards
• Document the Work: Log clear, accurate repair notes in our maintenance system
• Team Up: Keep workflow moving by staying in touch with your supervisor and fellow technicians
• Own Your Bay: Keep your work area clean, organized, and safe

What We’re Looking For

• High school diploma or GED required
• 6–12 months of hands-on diesel maintenance experience preferred
• Your own set of tools (our Tool Purchase Program can help)
• Basic computer skills for logging repairs and communicating with the team
• Valid driver’s license with a clean MVR (no SR-22)
• CDL is a plus, but not required
